Research on how censuses changed when machines started reading them and experimenting on how to make the amount
of data we provide while ticking boxes visible.
Just a digital carpet for those who cannot sleep. Maybe it is moving and maybe you are just dreaming? Try to
catch it and see.
Space and movement research of very small toilets in ArtEZ building. And an attempt at bringing awkward dances
with doors to the foreground.
Starting a dialogue about shadow bans on Instagram and restriction of nudity when it is posted by those who are
nude. I suggest you dissapear to read terms and conditions of how you are allowed to digitally exist.
While AI is fairly good with generating recognisable garments from big datasets, I decided to challenge it and
fed it only sewing patterns of overalls. And then I have sawn what it dreamed back.
While working on a project I felt frustrated with AI, with its inability to truly understand what it is fed and
what it spits out, with this immense border between us. And then I thought: 'Huh, that's what being an immigrant
feels like sometimes'. So I asked AI about my hometown.
I discovered this old techcnique of optophone - device that allowed blind people to read all books, not only
in braille. It converted letters into sounds tracing the their upper outline. What I found curious is that
you could have a favorite sounding font. So, I decided to recreate this idea using .js libraries and made a
type you can hear, answering quesions like: "How would italics sound like?"
When do you feel watched? I have built Scrunchy - awkward robot walking the corridors of my academy, constantly
streaming what it sees to the Internet. Do online strangers give Scrunchy the agency of a conscious observer?
A project started as a response to the industry of self-help books, which always give answers. I decided to talk
to other young people and create a mapping of what they are feeling and problematising, allowing them to talk to
each other in this topography of sense-making.
Artistic research I did in collaboration with ArtEZ Studium Generale about how I perceive politics and advocacy
work as a maker and as a human finding herself in various spaces and lands.
This is a game of associations and exploration of how Google search works. It is a multilayered process, hard to
fully disclose. But you can try to
guess what a machine might say, what it might have been told and reach contact with it by answering 'What do you
see?' and matching responses, leaving a visual dialogue behind.
A visual reserach started with ornaments of Nganasan tribe in the cold Russian lands, weaved through Peruvian
cloth makers, leading towards punch cards and kniting patterns as a hacking tool.
